George Washington
George Washington Educational Campus in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City is the site of Trident's first Swimmer Scholar Program.

The GW Pool
Built in 1919, George Washington was built with two pools, one for boys and one for girls. Only the girls pool is currently in operation. The 25-yard pool is configured into four lanes.

Class Time
Swimmer Scholars are required to attend both swim practice and classroom sessions each day. Additional tutoring and homework time help the students keep their grades up.
-
Extra Assignments
In addition to homework time and tutoring, Trident provides additional basic skills training, including writing improvement as part of classroom time.
-
Homework
Ensuring Swimmer Scholars get their homework done is a fundamental part of the Trident program and an essential first step in getting the students ready for success.

Rockefeller Center - NBC's Today Show
Some of our Swimmer Scholars were featured on NBC's Today Show. A pool was built in Rockefeller Center where our kids demonstrated their skills live on national TV!
-
Friendship
Our Swimmer Scholars quickly become best friends - an extended family.
-
Tough Guys
Each year Swimmer Scholars choose a motto to put on their team shirts. The year this picture was taken, the motto was "Some wish for it. We work for it."
-
Boys and Girls
It is important to Trident that we encourage young women to participate in the program. In minority populations in inner cities, very few women know how to swim.
-
Practice
Practice every day teaches discipline and gives a regular routine to our Swimmer Scholars.
-
Stroke Clinic
In addition to daily practice, Trident runs stroke and turn clinics at both the George Washington campus and other community-based locations.
